Walk Off Mats
Using walk off mats at the entrance of buildings is a great way to limit the amount of dirt, sand and other contaminants carried indoors from shoes.
The mats provide for improved indoor air quality as well as a longer life for indoor floors. It takes about seven steps on a walk off mat to completely remove all loose dirt from the bottom of ones shoes. If these steps are not made, tile or stone floorings can age prematurely. Walk-off mats save maintenance costs and help keep the buildings clean.
The most sustainable and widely available walk off mat material is made up of 100 percent recycled rubber. The recycled rubber comes from used car and truck tires that help contribute to the reduction of tires going to landfills. Their high durability offers a long life and the rubber’s strong traction is ideally suited for collecting sand and dirt from any shoe sole. EcoRubber® specializes in this market of flooring, offering a wide range of recycled rubber walk off mats and tiles.
