Water Closets

toto low flush water closetWater Closets are the most commonly used design for toilets in American homes and buildings today. The water closet design has a water storage closet on the back of the toilet that, when flushed, gets released through the bowl and then out an s-tube for disposal. Old, inefficient water closet toilets are one of the key contributors to wasted water in the United States. Fortunately, with new technology there are a variety of choices from which to choose.

The quickest and easiest way to reduce a toilet’s water consumption is to place a brick in the water closet. This will reduce the amount of water used for every flush. Individually this will not make a huge difference but, if each water closet toilet had a brick added to it, this simple effort could yield significant water savings.

The more effective solution is to invest in a low flow or dual flush toilet. The low flow toilet provides the same service as a standard toilet except it uses less water by running through a high pressure system. The dual flush toilet is designed with two options for flushing; a modest or a high power flush. This gives you the option to use less water when suitable.
